Maybe it’s not what we think it is.

Have you ever had an experience in which, just when you were about to embark on a new path, this massive amount of fear comes up from nowhere?

Sometimes that feeling is so intense that it stops you dead in your tracks.  Gut wrenching fear, that makes you break out into a sweat.

What do you attribute it to?

I know that sometimes in spiritual circles people say that it’s a warning sign that you’re on the wrong path… that you’re heading in the wrong direction and such like.

And have you ever had a healing session in which you’ve felt sick before, during or after, or had chills or the shakes during the session… and people have said to you that it’s because the healer was running dark energies or was “not clear”.

I used to believe these types of things myself at one stage, but I don’t necessarily see it that way anymore.

I understand the psychology of the mind better now and I know that these things can happen for many different reasons, and it’s not always dark and negative.

Firstly, the mind loves what is familiar and if we are making a decision to try something new, our mind will feel uncomfortable about going out of its “comfort zone”.

Breaking through our own limitations is always uncomfortable and that’s precisely why people stay stuck in old patterns and ways of thinking and being.  If it was easy to step out and do things differently, nobody would ever feel stuck!

When we push ourselves to change, the mind tries to take back control and get us back into our comfortable, familiar routine and this internal struggle makes things feel, just not right, so our attempts to change are aborted, and we go right back to where we started from.

Secondly, sometimes when we’re on the edge of stepping into a new endeavour, business, relationship, health protocol, job etc, all our limiting beliefs about being “less than” or “not good enough”, “not worthy” etc comes up.  That can make us feel pretty bad sometimes as these feelings are often attached to painful memories from the past.  When we tell ourselves these types of things – that we’re not good enough, not worthy of success or a loving relationship etc – it’s hurtful to us.  Our body feels it and it doesn’t feel good – it’s actually a form of self-abuse, so no wonder it feels bad and makes us feel sick.

Thirdly, a shift of consciousness can cause these uncomfortable feelings – of sickness, chills, shaking etc.  When the body has been moved energetically in a healing session (especially if we’re releasing trauma), or in a coaching session when awareness clicks into place or even when we make a firm and conscious decision about our future, this all creates a shift of
consciousness that can be felt on a physical level through some of the symptoms we’ve talked about.

That’s three things, just off the top of my head, but there are many more…

Now… does our body give us warning signs to keep us away from where danger exists?  Yes.
Is our mind’s job to keep us safe and would it do whatever is required to give us that message? Yes.
Are there healers who work with bad juju? Yes.
Can we pick up negative vibes from those healers? Yes

I’m not dismissing those signs or symptoms as meaning nothing, but what I’m saying is… that it’s sometimes, not quite as cut and dried as we think it is.

I see things from a much larger perspective nowadays, and I understand a lot more, so I can say with certainty, that I’ve made some incorrect assessments in the past, based on my limited understanding at the time.

Equally though, in the cases where my first assessment (of dark energies being present) was correct, I can see that it was actually a whole lot darker and uglier than even I realised at the time!

The viewpoint that it’s not always dark energy, is not a popular one amongst psychic and healer type groups, but I’m confident to stand in my truth and say, “Let’s not be so quick to judge something that we don’t fully understand”.

I appreciate that we “don’t know what we don’t know yet” so we tend to think we understand something when we actually don’t.
I teach that we should follow our heart, but this can take some fine tuning so that we get the right message.  And I also teach about doing the inner enquiry work so that we can find our own limiting beliefs and be really honest with ourselves and how we hold ourselves back.  When we do this, we tend to be able to have a much more balanced and grounded assessment of what is presenting in front of us and then with that understanding we can confidently move forwards again without fear.

If fear is holding you back from a new venture or stopping you from getting some coaching support, then send me a message and let’s see if we can work together and get this fear shifted once and for all, so that you can get on with what brings you passion and purpose in your life.
