This may be a controversial statement… but real transformation takes time.
These days everyone wants everything quickly. Fast food, online shopping, next-day delivery.
Order from a bookshop and you’ll be holding your breath for 10 days before your book arrives.
But order from Amazon and it’s there on your doorstep by the morning.
Instant gratification… almost as if we’ve been trained to expect it that way on purpose.
But like it or not, people love it, and that’s how a lot of things are these days.
People say that everything – even time itself – is speeding up… but when it comes to transformation, I’ll say that real, deep, lasting change still takes time.
I’ve noticed that when I work with clients more consistently, they get a more complete transformation — and often much more quickly — than when someone just has one-off sessions here and there.
Consistency of awareness is the key here.
Life is busy, and it’s all too easy to have a revelation or a breakthrough in the moment, and then forget everything you just learned when you get caught up in life again.
It’s so easy to forget that newly awakened part of yourself and slip back into who you were… just carrying on in the same way you always have.
The transformation you want is then forgotten again until your inner voice shouts so loudly that you just can’t ignore it anymore.
What happens then?
You book another session with someone — healer, teacher, therapist, coach — have another revelation or “awakening”… and then you walk away, forget, and repeat the cycle.
Over and over.
Maybe every three months… or six.
And then you wonder why you’re not where you want to be yet.
Can you imagine the progress you’d make if you only showed up at the gym once every 3 or 6 months?
You might tell yourself you’ll do the same exercises at home a few times a week and build it up on your own…
But do you actually?
How consistent are you really?
I see working with me as being quite similar to this in some ways.
If you have a session and then continue to work on yourself afterwards, then great — you’ll benefit.
But if you have a session with me, then go to someone else, and then someone else again, you probably won’t benefit… because we all work in different ways, and it just gets mixed up in your mind, so you lose clarity on what you should actually be doing.
And what often happens is this…
You have a one-off session. You feel good afterwards — or at least you have some direction.
But beyond that, you do nothing.
And then you don’t get the results you want… because transformation doesn’t work like that.
No change does.
And neither does one session with a trainer at the gym.
I’ve found the biggest and fastest transformations happen with the clients who work with me consistently.
That’s why I created Sanctuary… specifically to keep inner awareness and conscious growth happening on an almost daily basis.
Because that’s what it takes.
Consistency of awareness.
Being aware of your negative self-talk… and then actually doing something about it.
Recognising where you sabotage yourself and getting the support to break through that… and then shifting how you see the world, the opportunities, and the challenges in front of you.
Rome wasn’t built in a day — and your new life won’t be either.
Honestly, it comes down to a commitment to yourself and your own growth.
And this doesn’t happen by dipping in and out.
It happens when you decide to stay with it.
So if you’re really honest with yourself…
Are you actually doing that?
Or are you still going around in circles and getting nowhere fast
