#11 When You Begin to See the Pattern of Your Life

I’ve noticed that when you reconnect with your inner knowing and begin to trust it again, you can begin to look back at your life quite differently, and very often your life purpose will start to come into clearer view.

Experiences that once seemed random start to feel as though they may have been connected all along and you begin to see that some of the challenging circumstances in your life have appeared more than once, although many times with subtle differences so that you don’t necessarily see them at first.

Very often, certain themes repeat themselves and situations arise that seem to push you to develop strengths you never expected to need.

If you’ve ever looked back at your life in this way, I’m sure you’d agreed that those experiences felt really confusing, frustrating or even unfair at the time but when you step back and look at the broader span of your life, sometimes a completely different perspective begins to emerge.

You begin to see that the very experiences you once struggled with most deeply may also have shaped the qualities you now carry within you and some of these you might now consider to be actually be gifts.

Perhaps it was strength – or compassion.  Or perhaps you learnt discernment and developed the ability to recognise truth.

Maybe you recognise that you have the ability to remain steady when life becomes uncertain…

In my experience, the challenges that shape us most deeply and feel like our deepest core wound, often point directly toward the work we are here to do in the world.

The places where we have really struggled, questioned or searched for answers frequently become the places where we later find meaning and a depth of understanding and that show us our soul purpose.

I often find that when people reach this stage of reflection, they begin to ask:  “What was this preparing me for?”… and that question can change everything for you.

Because when you begin looking at your life through that lens, the past often starts to reveal a very different story.

Experiences that once felt meaningless, suddenly begin to make sense and the challenges that once seemed like obstacles begin to look more like preparation as that deeper understanding starts to drop into place.

And sometimes you realise that the very things you once wished had never happened may have played a significant role in shaping who you have become… and what you are really here for.

It doesn’t mean those experiences were easy, but it does mean they may not have been without purpose.

And when you begin to recognise that possibility, then you can start to see your life with entirely new eyes – because your life has not been a series of random events – but a path that has been preparing you for something that you are only now beginning to understand and that uncovering of truth within you is the most important part of Remembering Who You Are.
