The Dirty Secret Nobody In The Spiritual Industry Wants To Talk About

I’m going to say something that (again) might make me unpopular in certain circles.

There is something I’ve noticed that happens inside the healing and spiritual industry that most people, if they’ve seen it too, don’t want to talk about.

So I’m going to.

Some healers, practitioners and therapists create relationships where the client needs to keep coming back again and again – every week, every month – for years sometimes, in an almost never-ending cycle.

They create a type of co-dependent relationship – and I’m going to presume that not every practitioner realises they’re doing this and I’m not necessarily saying that they’re doing this deliberately either. I know that for some, this is simply the way they were taught, but the effect is the same regardless and that is that the client stays dependent upon their healer and at the first sign of a wobble in their life, they make another appointment with their healer.

The problem is, that dependency, however comforting it might feel, is not healing and it is certainly not empowerment either.

I’d like to think that some of these practitioners are innocent and genuine when they advise the client to “come back next week/very soon because there’s still more work to do”… but sadly I know that some of them are more invested in the financials of having a repeat long term client than they are in the client’s actual sovereignty.

The energy gets cleared in a session, but the client is never taught to understand how to work with their own energy.

The reading might give insight, but the client is never taught to access their own knowing or given the understanding that “future potentials” are not set in stone and that they can be upgraded or downgraded via the subconscious mind.

The session brings a feeling of relief, but the client never discovers or fully clears the root cause of the pain so it’s still there simmering in the background until it flares up again – which it will because you can’t fix what you don’t understand and nobody can fix it for you either.
And so they come back, again and again and again…. Sometimes weekly, sometimes monthly. Financially it’s great for the healer’s pocket – not so great for the client’s – and does absolutely nothing for their actual empowerment. But that practitioner “helped them last time” and they don’t know what else to do.

There’s a word for this and I’m going to use it – it’s cannibalism.

Not literally, but energetically that’s exactly what’s happening.

The industry is feeding off the very people it claims to be healing. Consuming their potential for sovereignty, their financial resources, their trust and their focus of attention in order to keep itself alive.

I’ve met many women stuck in this exact cycle and they don’t even know they are. They describe themselves as ‘still working on it’ or ‘going through a process’ — and some have been, literally, for five years, ten years or more.

They’re trying to get better — and some of the healings they’ve received have helped a bit — but nobody has ever turned it all around and helped them look inside for their own answers. So they remain reliant on someone else to tell them what’s going on and what to do next.

And that’s the real problem within the industry…

Because a client who learns to understand their own energy, trust their own knowing, and move through their own patterns with clarity — that client doesn’t need to book another session in order to function in the world. They come back when they genuinely want to go deeper or shift up a level, but certainly not because they can’t cope without you.

And honestly, that’s what I’m interested in creating through the work that I offer.

Potentially then, each time I work with a client, I could be doing myself out of a job because my goal every time is to help you to trust yourself, know yourself – to be inner directed and soul aligned, so that you don’t really need me at all!

That’s sovereignty – that’s what I teach and it’s what I stand for. It’s your birthright after all.

It’s what the spiritual industry should be doing – but it’s not for the most part.

I’ve seen people stuck for years just trying to let go of their trauma, find themselves and heal themselves – but never quite getting there.

But with that said, if you’ve ever felt like you’ve been doing the work for years but nothing’s changing… it might not be all on you.

It might be worth asking what you’ve actually been taught about the part that you must play in your own healing and your ability to Remember Who You Are and What You’re Here For — and that’s where I come in.
