#44 Why You’re Still Stuck After Years of Spiritual Work

Woman sitting alone reflecting on passive healing cycles in spiritual work
Have you ever asked yourself this question?

I have… and more than once, I can assure you!

I’ve done all the spiritual stuff that you might expect…. I have several reiki masterships, and I’ve done spiritual healing, crystal healing, tarot, psychic development, mediumship, trance channeling, shamanic work, lightbody activatations, gridwork (to name just a few) and I’ve even taught most of this stuff too.

Yet I still came to a point when I thought that despite all of that, not much had really changed in my life – and honestly, I could see that not much had changed in the lives of many of the women I knew who also did lots of these types of therapies and processes.

I’m not saying that reiki doesn’t work or sound healing is pointless or anything like that… but I noticed that the common thread in all of this is that the healing is being done to us.

I know women who have gone from healer to healer to technique to technique hoping to find the right energetic intervention that would finally fix them permanently.

Others have gone from one psychic reader to another in the hope that they would hear the right message – that they will find love, that they will heal, that they will be financially abundant, that their soul purpose is …. (fill in the blank).

I know women who have spent years doing this and a lot of money doing this too.

Look, I get it. Particularly when you are in pain – whether that is physical pain or chronic emotional or mental pain – you just want someone to help you or better yet someone to fix it for you and make it all go away.

Someone with seemingly magical powers even!

And full disclosure – I have seen a few miracles in my time – but they often don’t hold OR another symptom manifests at some later date and they’re right back in the same loop all over again.

Why? Because the person is still living out of alignment with themselves.

This is what I call passive healing… and the truth is, that no one can fix this for us. Not me. Not even the most gifted healer on the planet. And while it can look like something got fixed, if the root cause of the problem is not fully addressed the energy will morph and express itself in a different way to try to get our attention.

Please understand though, that I am not dismissing energy healing, or the power of essences or crystals for example. I use all of these personally and I offer this in client sessions. All of this is powerful and honestly, I’d say that all of this is necessary too because it helps to shift stuck energy – gives you a moment of relief, a space to come back to yourself and basically it opens a door to your own healing and invites you to walk through.

What it can’t do though, is walk through it for you.

You have to do that yourself.

The women I see who are stuck in these passive healing cycles are not weak or lazy. Often they are quite dedicated to their spiritual path. But unfortunately they have fallen under the spell of the spiritual industry who has taught them to outsource their power.

And this is where it gets personal because in my experience, the spiritual industry has a cannibalism problem.

It feeds on seekers. Not maliciously, necessarily but it is part of the New Age structure and the industry actually needs people to stay stuck.

A person who has genuinely remembered who they are and reclaimed their own inner knowing doesn’t need to keep buying the next healing, the next activation, the next retreat – so the business model, whether that’s intentional or not, is actually built on perpetual seeking. It relies on “people needing healing”.

If everyone healed themselves, there would be no industry left and none of the spiritual influencers, retreat hosts or healers would make any money!

Their businesses rely on repeat customers so they create repeat customers – but that’s the topic of another conversation for another day very soon.

The spiritual industry is designed to do a very specific thing: it gives people just enough relief to feel hopeful, but keeps the actual answers just out of reach… because there’s always another level that you haven’t reached yet, or another attunement. Or another astrological alignment or portal opening.

And nowadays there is another healer who’s more advanced than the last one or a new machine or technology that you must try because it claims “great results”…

And the seeker, who is more often than not, a genuinely sincere, deeply feeling woman, interprets her continued struggle not as the deliberate design of the spiritual “industry”, but as a flaw in herself.

She thinks she hasn’t found the right thing yet. She thinks she needs to invest more, try harder – and even perhaps acquire a few more trainings or certificates.

She doesn’t realise she’s been unconsciously taught to distrust the one source that could actually set her free… which is herself

Having worked with thousands of women over many years now, I can tell you that the moment that things start to really change for them, is when they start becoming an active participant in their own transformation.

This is what I call active healing.

It doesn’t mean it’s harder or more painful than what you’ve been experiencing before – and look, this isn’t about blaming anyone, it’s just about getting honest – but it does mean that the spiritual bypassing has to stop and you have to face the truth within yourself.

You have to be willing to look at some of your repeating patterns that are negative or unhelpful.

You have to train yourself to notice your limiting beliefs and unconscious thoughts.

And then you have to clean them up so that you can finally be free of them.

People worry that this type of work requires dragging yourself through your trauma and doing shadow work daily. Well no not really, though there might be a bit of that at certain times but honestly, how else are you going to clear out the mess that you’ve been holding in your body and consciousness if you are not prepared to go in and clean it out? It’s not going to magically evaporate because somebody blows into your chakras!

I liken this cleaning out process to cleaning out your fridge…

You seriously wouldn’t just keep putting lovely fresh foods at the front of each shelf so that it looks all pretty and healthy, if you knew that just hidden behind that is outdated, rotten or mouldy leftovers would you?

I consider our trauma and shadow work to be the same. Deal with it. Clean it out. Then get on with creating a beautiful fresh and clean environment instead of dragging around that crap for years and years on end. #JFDI.

That’s what I work with women on. I can’t fix everything for them – nobody can – but I help and support them to find the courage within themselves to face the old stuff that it’s time to let go of.

I don’t tell them what to do, I guide them to connect with themselves so that they know what they need to do.

And I help them to see what’s happening beneath the surface of their own life – how things came to be the way they are, and how to clean things up and get back into alignment with themselves.

Here’s what I know after nearly 30 years of doing this work… you’ve been living inside a system that kept pointing you everywhere except inward.
You were doing your best with what you had.

But here’s the thing… the answers were never out there.
They’re in you and they always have been.

That’s what I help women find their way back to. Not through magic or through me fixing everything – but through finally turning toward themselves instead of away.

If that’s where you are and if you’re tired of searching…that’s exactly what I’m here for. Come and find me.

Let’s keep in touch!
