#17 Where This Begins to Stabilise

Woman reflecting on personal growth support and lasting change

There’s another part to this that doesn’t always get talked about.

In fact, I had this very same conversation with a client just yesterday…

It’s the stage where you can see things clearly, but you’re still learning how to live it…

You can have moments where everything feels aligned.
You can see your patterns as they’re happening.
You can feel what’s true for you.
You can even respond differently at times.

And then something happens… and you feel a little wobble inside, and you find yourself slipping back into an old way of being again.

Not completely, but enough to notice it. And enough to feel frustrated by it!

You know that something has shifted inside of you and you know you’re not where you used to be… but you’re not fully anchored in this new way of being either.

And this is where it can feel a bit like you’re moving forwards… and backwards at the same time.

I’ve seen people stay in that space for quite a long time.

It’s not a completely stuck place… because they do know things. They understand that they’re going through a change, but because there’s nothing around them that’s actually holding them in that new level of awareness, life continues as it always has.

So they’re in the same environments, having the same conversations with the same people who have the same expectations of them.

Things feel the same but they’re also not the same… and it’s very easy to slowly drift back into what is familiar, because our mind is wired that way.

So you drift backwards… not in a big dramatic way… but in small, almost unnoticeable ways, and over time those small shifts all add up until you find yourself right back in a version of life that you had already outgrown. And that is something that I’ve seen happen to people quite a lot.

This is often the point where people start looking for their “tribe”.

Somewhere that reflects what they’re experiencing and helps them to make sense of it.

Honestly I think something within us knows that we’re not meant to be doing this on our own… there’s a need for connection and a sense of belonging that is innate within us.

I’ve noticed that this “search” often leads people into more spiritual spaces, but those spaces don’t always feel right for everyone.

And let’s be honest… things like rituals, ceremonies and women’s circles simply are not everyone’s cup of tea – and they’re not mine either!

But that can create another layer of uncertainty for many women, because they know something within them is shifting, but they can’t quite find where they fit in anymore and that can feel quite lonely.

I’ve spoken to many women who feel that way.  They know they’re changing, they know they’re seeing things differently, but they don’t feel at home in the places they’re being told they “should” be.

And it’s also why I’ve come to see that this part of the process isn’t just about awareness.

It’s about what surrounds you while that awareness is trying to become something you actually live.

Because when you’re in the right space… where:

  • truth is normal
  • awareness is supported
  • and you’re not the only one choosing to live this way

THEN something begins to stabilise much more naturally… and it’s not because you’re trying harder.  But because you’re no longer doing it alone.
